Ash: Looking back at Leinart in Arizona

Today is the day that I honestly thought was a year away. I figured Matt would be the starter this year and probably not do well enough for coach Whisenhunt and the Cards to give him a new contract. I didn't see this coming at all.

Obviously this last week changed my opinion on what they would do. Leinart's tenure will be remembered by what could have been, not what was. The potential was there. The day Matt Leinart was drafted was one of the most exciting days in franchise history. The team was about to debut their new stadium, they had just signed Edgerrin James to a contract and the phones at the team ticket office were ringing off the hook.

The game against the Bears on Monday night was another moment that the fans will always remember about Matt and unfortunatley that is it!

Leinart will land on another team and be given another opportunity in this league and I am here to say I hope he makes it. Yes, it will make the Cards look bad if he goes and tears it up somewhere else, but I like Matt and I hope for good things in his future!

Max Hall will start by week 6!

    Anderson didn't do well in Cleveland but didn't have the receivers the Cardinals have. Hall looked pretty good in preseason without top receivers, but wasn't against the starting defenses. At least we start against the Rams. They say they are better than last year, but frankly when your on the bottom all you can do is go up. Maybe.

    Im not surprised the Cards sent him packin one bit. I figured he was either gonna be the starter or be down the road with no room for anything in the middle. Replay the tape when Gambo asked him 2 weeks ago if he would be willing to be a backup and listen to the tone of his laugh before he answered the question. But, thats all good because Max Hall is the REAL DEAL. If he dont look like Drew Brees then I dont know a thing about football. This guy has all the tools and he really excites me about the Cards future. DA will either get hurt or be benched by week 6. Trust me on that one.

    I think you are right about Max starting this year by week 6. I just hope we aren't a couple games under .500 when we get there due to an inaccurate D.A. I must say though I will miss Matt. I always liked him, and hope he finds a place he can have a fair shot at the starter job.
