GLENDALE - Pharmacies across the Valley are increasingly the targets of drug robberies, according to Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch.

"OxyContin is definitely the drug of choice unfortunately," Burch said.

Burch says on Thursday, February 25th, 2010, right in the middle of the lunch hour, a well-dressed, clean-cut guy entered the Walgreens at 83rd Avenue and Glendale.

Burch said the man walked back to the pharmacy counter, and "gives the clerk a note, demands OxyContin and even describes the amount."

Burch said the man was "very specific" about the amount of OxyContin he wanted.

The man then took off on foot, but not before asking for his note back.

"The note basically says, �I have a gun, don't do anything stupid,'" Burch said.

This guy was so smooth and so specific that Burch had no doubt that he's done this before.

"Sounds like someone who's very organized and absolutely has done this before," Burch said.

The suspect is described as white, around 30 years old and 6 feet tall, with an average build and short, dark hair.

Silent Witness and a pharmaceutical company are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
