PHOENIX - He's been dubbed the sandwich-eating bandit.
"He's committing a very serious felony while snacking," Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch said.
Burch said that on April 5, 2010, the man committed two crimes - first at 51st Avenue and McDowell, then 20 minutes later, on 83rd Avenue in Tolleson.
"He walks into the Circle-Ks armed with just a metal bar - like an 18-inch metal bar - threatens the clerks that he will beat them, and then they give him money and Scratchers tickets and he leaves," Burch said.
You know if he's stealing lottery tickets, he isn't the smartest guy.
"All the lottery tickets are registered, and so they know which ones were stolen, so if you win something and return it, you're going to get caught," Burch said.
Not to mention he's caught on surveillance tape, so the police are able to give the public a great description of him.
"By the way, it‘s a beautiful picture of the guy," Burch said. "Someone's going to recognize him."
The suspect is an adult Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years old. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a crime black shirt with tan or brown plaid shorts and what appears to be a red Washington Nationals cap.
Unfortunately, the police don't have as much information about what he was eating.
"We have absolutely no description of the sandwich," Burch said. "Unsure. Could be a burrito or a hoagie."
